The Skating Club of Vail is pleased to offer multiple classes to help further develop your skating. These classes are open to our members, as well as other skaters who have passed the appropriate Learn to Skate level(s) noted below, or with approval of a Skating Club of Vail Coach.

WINTER 2025 CLASS SCHEDULE

JANUARY 6 THRU MARCH 7, 2025

ADVANCED FIGURE SKATING

MONDAYS, VAIL - 4:45-5:15PM

Designed for skaters at the Pre-Preliminary level or above.  This class will focus on advancement in skaters' current skills including, but not limited to, jumps & axels, IJS spins and combinations, edging and precision.  Instructors: Tara Lane, Gretchen Lentz & Ariana Bruno

9-week session (1/6- 3/3)
SCV Member $160; Non-Member $225

Prerequisite: Passed Pre-Preliminary MIF or higher; or with approval of Skating Club of Vail coach

ASPIRE - VAIL

mondays, vail - 4:45-5:15pm

Formerly known as our “Bridge Class” this is designed for skaters who are ready to transition from Learn to Skate to more advanced figure skating. This class will build on previous skills by providing skaters with a strong foundation of all basic skills. Instruction will focus on how to warm up, freestyle session etiquette, edging, skating skills, turns and the introduction to jumps, and spins. Instructors: Tara Lane, Gretchen Lentz & Ariana Bruno

9-week session (1/6 - 3/3)
SCV Member $160; Non-Member $225

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Learn to Skate Level 5 or higher; or with approval of Skating Club of Vail coach

 

EDGE BREAKFAST CLUB

WEDNESDAYS, EAGLE - 7:00-7:30AM

This fun and upbeat edge class will include drills, patterns, turns and continuous flow - all while skating to music of different genres with beats and musicality that compliment the drills. These small exercises will help improve movement across the ice and develop better skating skills that skaters can transfer into improving their jumps and spins. Instructor: Gretchen Lentz

9-week session (1/8 - 3/5)

THEATER ON ICE

Wednesdays, Vail - 5:00-5:30pm

A club favorite!!! Theater on Ice gives skaters the opportunity to express their theatrical traits on the ice, while also working on synchronicity and precision. This 12-week class will focus on the art of performing and working as a team, includes costumes for all skaters, and culminates with a performance in the 2025 SCV ICE SHOW!

As this class is built on group choreography, mandatory attendance is expected (including performances). Multiple absences will result in a skater being removed from the class without refund, at the discretion of the instructors.  Instructors: Courtney Gill & Jenna Beairsto.

Registration Deadline: JANUARY 8 - no exceptions!

Theater on Ice WILL be perform at the 2025 Ice Show on April 12 & 13, 2025. All registered skaters are making a commitment to perform in the show, as well as attend Tech Week Rehearsals (April 7 - 11, schedule TBD).

12-week session (1/15 - 4/2, plus Tech Week and Show performances)

ASPIRE - EAGLE

FRIDAYS, EAGLE - 5:00 - 5:30pm
