Gretchen Lentz - Ice Show Director
Gretchen grew up right here in the Vail Valley and began skating at the age of nine. She is a Skating Club of Vail Alumnae and has been a member since she started her competitive skating career at age eleven. As a competitive skater she trained at facilities across the country including Palm Beach Ice Works in Southern Florida, and Ice Centre at the Promenade in Westminster, Colorado.
Gretchen is the 2018 Nine States Intermediate Excel Ladies’ Champion, a three-time National Showcase qualifier, and a 2017 National Showcase Competitor. She is a USFSA Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field.
Coach Gretchen’s goal is to create a positive, uplifting environment for all skaters whilst teaching the important life lessons and skills the sport of figure skating has to offer. She is a prominent believer in the line-ANYONE CAN SKATE!
Gretchen moved back to Vail Valley after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in 2023. Since then, she has successfully established her coaching career and strives to grow figure skating numbers across Eagle County.
Gretchen’s love, energy, and passion for artistic figure skating comes straight from her eight years as a SCV show cast member and she is delighted to bring that passion to a new generation of skaters as the Skating Club of Vail Ice Show director.
